My introduction to the vet field started at an early age through my mother who is practicing small animal veterinarian. I vividly remember shadowing my mom at work and being amazed at the variety of patients she saw and her compassion for them and their owners. Having her as my role model inspired me to start my journey into veterinary medicine to protect the human animal bond.
I was fortunate to grow up on a small horse farm in Piqua, Ohio which further instilled my passion for animal care. I used to compete in eventing and dressage and was an active Pony Club member. I love the partnership and trust that develops between horse and rider.
Growing up, I also regularly showed our family dogs: a Standard Poodle and Cairn Terrier through 4H and AKC shows. I still have a passion for training and working with dogs and regularly attend dog agility trials.
In the field of veterinary medicine, I enjoy soft tissue surgery and hope to continue to advance my skills with guidance from the expert team at Twin Maples. I also have a strong interest in complementary medicine such as acupuncture and chiropractic treatment. I plan to pursue extra training in these fields to provide them to patients in the future.I am thrilled to start my career with the excellent team at Twin Maples Veterinary Hospital.
Today, I have three personal pets. Reggie, a warmblood horse who I ride dressage with and two sassy, playful cats, Geo and Peluso. My time away from the clinic is often spent visiting national parks and exploring new places to hike. When I’m not with my animals, I enjoy running and rock climbing outside, as well as trying new restaurants and reading a new book.
